You've all heard stories of faith and contact lenses but I have to tell you just one more.
It's 9:30 pm and we're heading home from a play rehearsal which was at the Lee Auditorium. I was driving with mom riding shotgun and Tia and Elliot in the back seat. I had turned off the a/c because I was freezing. All the windows were up and just as we got into the "twisties" mom's contact popped out. As I drove, mom slowly and methodially searched her dress and lab coat and around her seat but no contact was found. Because it was late and kids were hungry, we stopped at Carls Jr. for burgers and continued the search. Nothing. We got home and with two powerful flashlights, we spend an hour searching the car. We finally gave up and prepared for bed. Mom was quite disturbed because she had a very very busy week and needed her contact to be able to survive her schedule. (This week, she was leaving home every morning at 6am and we didn't see her until 6 or 7 in the evening.) As we were getting into bed, I suggested that we drive back to Carls Jr and search the parking lot one more time. Elliot, Mom and I did and as we were searching, Nicholas and the boys drove by and stopped to help. It was now about 11pm. No luck.
The next day, mom got up to go to work and searched her truck again but still no contact. Last night, as mom, oliver and I were coming home from taking waqa to her cousin's house, mom suggested we search one more time. We did and after about half an hour of fruitless searching we decided it was gone. We had prayed and asked Heavenly Father to please help us find the contact. We've done this before and He has always shown us where to look. As we were closing up the truck, I said to mom, let me look once more under the seat and when I shined the light under the seat, there was the contact!! We had looked at the same spot a hundred times and there it was. Our prayers had been answered. We just needed to do our part. Yes, faith without works is Dead!
I bear you my testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true! Please don't ever doubt that. I love each and everyone of you....Take care and be safe...your Dad

Monday, April 28th...
My gosh, time sure flies...I can't believe it's been over a week and another digit added to my years on earth since I've written anything in my blog.
So let me see...Saturday was my birthday and what a fun day it was...I got my first call from grandma, of course, but I was still asleep so mom asked her to please call me back..she never did..haha. Next I got a call from aunty Loi..it was nice talking to her. I waited and waited all day for the important ones to come thru but nothing happened until my daughter, Alberta Thomasine Peters, called from Logan, UT to wish me a happy birthday..it was so nice to hear bert's voice..i then told her to tell her brother and sisters that if they don't call me by the end of the day, they will not get a visit from me..boy, can bert get the ball rolling..5 minutes later, the phone rang and it was Poli and the family...thanks guys but the guy trying to sing bass needs more practice..haha..5 mins after that, the Shadow called and "pretended" that bert didn't have to remind her about my bday...hahaha..then 5 mins after that i was talking to teri in mississippi...and that's when i found out the Rina did not have cell reception at her new house so she wasn't able to call but she did send an email...so what was the best present I got for my birthday?...BEING ABLE TO SPEAK TO ALL OF MY CHILDREN! What more can a parent ask for...Dinner at the Hong Kong Inn very nice...food was good and company was great...
I just love my family so much and count my blessings everyday for having such great children and a wonderful family...until next time...dad

Wednesday morning...
hello everyone..first of all I want to apologize to Rina for the big rumor that I started about her....sorry honey..couldn't restrain myself...I'll take you out to dinner to make it up to you, ok?
Mom and Eto are busy getting last minute preprations before their flight to apia at 2pm this afternoon...just got back from the store, bank, power company and other last minute run arounds so they're both upstairs and I can hear a lot of running back and forth...hahaha.
Had another great night last night and I feel really good today. Ok, here's one of my scariest experiences although I'll reserve the right to write more later.
The Fijian Peacock.
For a few years, the PCC got this great notion that they needed more "attractions" for tourists to experience. One of the dumbest of those ideas was to have birds of every variety roam freely all over the center. And the dumbest of those birds was the Peacock. There were about a dozen of those stupid birds and they all congregated in the Fijian Village and boy did they poop all over the place. Drove the Fijians crazy..and they roasted a few of them too. Well, the largest of these birds (unbeknowned) to me nested at night in a tree that was by the bridge from the Maori Village to the Fijian Village.
One night, late at night, I went to check up on the graveyard shift and see if I could confirm a rumor that some of the security guards were sleeping on the job. I let myself in thru a side gate and snuck into the Fijian village. As I was standing on the bridge, I noticed a cart heading towards me from the Maori village. I decided I was going to hide under the tree and scare the life out of the guy driving the cart. I crouched under the lowest branch of the tree and stood motionless. All of a sudden, I felt like someone or something was watching me. I thought of all the ghost stories about the PCC at night and that made it worse. I looked around but was unable to see anything because it was pitch black. The hair behind my neck stood on end and I was beginning to feel extremely scared. I was sure something bad was going to happen to me. Something told me to run but I stood frozen to the spot. Then just when I couldn't stand it any longer, this HUGE thing dropped on top of my head and started screaming and flapping! I started screaming, flapping and running around in circles. The guy who was on the cart saw and heard the commotion and he started screaming too. Then to make matters worse, he took off in the cart and left me there! Anyway, when I calmed down, I realized that this peacock which was asleep in the tree had jumped down and landed on my head.
They could never figure out what had happened to the flock of peacocks and I will never tell. It does taste something like a cross between a turkey and a duck....hahaha

Pain free night....
man, it's 10:45am and i just jumped out of bed! I was supposed to go and take pictures of Kira at her first samoan day and I slept right thru it. I went to bed last night without taking any pain pills thinking that if I needed them later, I could always get up and take them in the middle of the night instead I slept for 12 hours straight. For the past 2 months I've slept in 2 or 3 hour segments so you can imagine how well rested I feel. I feel so good right now I think I'm going out and climb the coconut tree out back to get some coconuts since neither Loki or nick can climb a tree.hhahaha. Thank you for all your prayers...believe me, they work! I love you so much and there isn't a day that passes that I'm not thanking Heavenly Father for family like you.
Please take care of yourselves and be safe..Love you all.....Dad.
Lini, congrats on getting the apartment...very very happy for you!
Rina, thank you for sharing your great news with me yesterday, if it's a boy....I'd be honored if you were to name him after me...oooooooooops i hope it wasn't a secret.
Teri, thank you so much for coming home with me...
Poli, thank you for calling me all the time to check up on me..
Bert, your the bomb...atomic, that is..congrats on the new job..
Next question: What was your most frightening experience?

My most embarassing moments..
Ok the next question is "What is the most embarassing moment of your life?"
I have several but I'll share one right now..
While Riki was hospitalized at the UCLA Medical Center, Mili and I practically lived there. One day, we went down to the cafeteria to have dinner. The elevator was pretty crowded when we got on so we stood right up against the doors. As the elevator stopped on each floor and more people were getting on or off, I did not realize that Mili had moved to the back of the elevator. On the second or third stop, I reached down to hold Mili's hand but she moved her hand away. Without looking, I grabbed her hand and interlocked my fingers with hers and held her hand tight. She jerked her hand away and that's when I heard a loud giggled fromt the back of the elevator. I looked over and realized that I was trying to interlock fingers with a total stranger. The woman was so angry with me as she got off the elevator and I couldn't move fast enough away from the giggling crowd. As I turned the corner, I saw the bathroom sign and headed straight for it, opened the door and stumbled right into the woman from the elevator. I was in the women's bathroom! I turned and ran out and right into Mili who was doubled over laughing her head off. She said she watched the whole thing in the elevator and followed me out and saw me walking into the women's bathroom. Oh she told that story over and over everytime she sees and elevator....which was often..hahahaha

Well it' s been several days since I've written something here. Today is Sunday and I've been in bed the entire day. Last night was a hard night for me because of the pain on my shoulders and back. I could'nt sleep the whole night but I feel much better now.
Yesterday the people that is putting together a video presentation for the cancer society to be presented in Washington and San Fransisco came for a follow up interview. This time they also wanted to talk to all the kids. Loki, Nick, Tia, Eto and Oli were interiewed together. We don't know what they talked about but we'll be getting a copy of the DVD and then we'll see.
Yesterday, a heavy burden was lifeted off my shoulders when I finally got the courage to ask Teri if she would consider coming home for a year after she graduates from Mississippi and she said yes! Teri will never know how much that meant to me. I have been so worried because Loki and Nick really need someone to stay on top of them if they want this business to survive after I'm gone. Mom just doen'st think she has the abitlity to do it nor the patience to deal with my two sons. Good boys but needs prodding every so often. Put tools away, inventory tools, keep tools clean and tidy, gas up the truck, organize equipment...etc.
Anyway, I hope I don't scare Teri off with all these complaints...hahaha.
Tia and I were playing 21 questions the other night and that's when we found out how little I knew about each other. It was fun and I want to play the same game with each of you. I'll ask a question and each of you post your answers. Since we'll all participate, everyone will see each other's answer and get to know each other better.
So here's the first simple questions:
What is your favorite color (aqua blue)
What is your lucky number (11)
What is your favorite food (curry and roti)
What is your favorite dessert (dark chocolate icecream)
Ok, lets see your answers soon.
Take care and hope all of you will have a great week......Dad

The Fijian Fofo...
Just got back from visiting the famous Fijian Fofo this morning. Nick took me to the house at 8am and there were already lots of people waiting to see this man. When it was my turn, he asked me to tell him about myself and what pains i was experiencing. I told him of the pain on the bottom of my feet, my shoulder and back. He started with my feet and I can't tell you how painful it was as he manipulated the backs of my feet. When I couldn't feel the pain anymore, he told me that it was complete. Then he did my back by pulling on my head until it about to come off my shoulder...then he told me to give him my let hand..he warned me that it was going to be painful but i had no idea what pain was until he started to massage my fingers! I think i must have screamed..but i have to tell you that i feel a whole lot better right now. This morning, I couldn't even raise my hands above my shoulders without a lot of pain but i can now raise them over my head without any pain. As nick and I were driving home, I told nick that it was the first time in months that i can sit in a car seat and not feel pain in my lower back. So, all in all, I am hoping that this will help me. I'm looking forward to this evening to see if I can sleep without resorting to pain pills or even a sleeping pill. I'll let you all know tomorrow.
I love you and miss you lots...........dad
